In 1956, Robyn and Brian went on a blind date. They got married in less than two years after falling in love at first sight. Brian, who fought in the Army in Malaya and Vietnam, and Robyn, who held a variety of occupations, demonstrated that love can endure in the face of adversity. The pair founded Sweeties Confectionary, their own company, in 1968. Their commitment to each other and their partnership has been demonstrated by the shop, which is still a well-liked presence in their town.
