Sridhar Ramaswamy was born in 1967. Currently, he is 57 years old. He was born in Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) in Tamil Nadu, India. Ramaswamy lives in Cupertino, Califonia, with his wife and two sons. Ramaswamy began his career as a member of the technical staff at Telcordia Technologies, and later at Bell Labs and Lucent Technologies.

Sridhar Ramaswamy is an Indian-American computer scientist and executive. He has been the Chief Executive Officer of Snowflake Inc., a cloud-based data-warehousing company, since February 2024. He was the co-founder and CEO of the startup company Neeva, an ad-free, privacy-focused search engine until it was acquired by Snowflake. He previously led Google’s $115 billion advertising division.

EDUCATION:

He attended IIT Madras and received a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He moved to the United States in 1989 and received a master’s degree and PhD in computer science from Brown University.

SRIDHAR RAMASWAMY APPOINTED AS SNOWFLAKE CEO:

Data cloud company Snowflake has appointed IIT Madras alumnus Sridhar Ramaswamy as its CEO and member of the board of directors with immediate effect. He succeeds Frank Slootman who retired as CEO. However, Slootman will continue to serve as chairman of the board.

Ramaswamy previously held the position of SVP of AI at Snowflake. Ramaswamy has been leading Snowflake’s AI strategy since joining Snowflake last year in connection with the company’s acquisition of search engine Neeva.

He led the launch of Snowflake Cortex, Snowflake’s fully managed service that makes AI simple and secure for all users to quickly drive business value. Before joining Snowflake, Ramaswamy co-founded Neeva in 2019.
