These days, older employees are prevalent. Therefore, it would appear, is ageism. In the workplace, a recent AARP research found that about two-thirds of Americans over 50 believe older workers encounter discrimination. Ninety percent of them think ageism is the norm. The results, which were derived from a number of surveys conducted in 2022 and 2023, are noteworthy given the noticeable aging of America’s labor force. After the mid-1980s, the number of workers 65 and older has increased fourfold. The working age population is roughly 25% older than 55.
